Because of day to day life, sometimes it is not possible of adding new things to the site where it should be. Annoucements of new happens with this site will be listed here until the proper changes can be made.
In the November 11, 2011 Frontier Girls newsletter I was also featured as the "Girl of the month". Here is a copy of what the article said:
"Zoee -Dolphin, Rhode Island Zoee is a Dolphin in Rhode Island who is both a Girl Scout as well as a Frontier Girl. As part of the WOW (Wonders of Water) Journey with Girl Scouts, she and her mom created a fantastic website all about water called “Don’t Waste Water, We Need It!” (http://dontwastewaterweneedit.weebly.com/) I was so impressed with the way she presented the information she learned, that I asked if I could use the site as a basis to write a water badge for Frontier Girls. Zoee did me one better and offered to write the badge herself. With the help of her mom and other leaders in her troop, she took what she learned in Girl Scouts as well as the extra information she discovered on her own, and wrote our new Water Badge. You can check out the requirements in Discover Science and Technology. Zoee is a great example of what a Frontier Girl should be. She went above and beyond what was required in either Girl Scouts or Frontier Girls, and created materials to share what she has learned with others. Frontier Girls would not be the program it is if our members did not step up and share what they create with the rest of our membership. Thank you Zoee for giving us a wonderful new resource." |

October 12, 2011: Back in March of 2011 I was asked if a badge could be wrote based on my website. I asked if I could write the badge myself and was told I could. Well, I finally finished writing what will be called the "Water" badge. It took 3 months to write the badge because not only was this something new I had never done before but my mom had never wrote a badge either. I had so much fun writing my badge and my mom fun learning how to do something new with guiding me with my badge project. I can't wait until I write another badge!
Thank You again to the Frontier Girls for allowing me to write my first badge, even though I was 8 years old and not one of their members! |
